Marlin Model 30 | Shotgun Forum
Acquired a Marlin Model 30 16ga pump gun, with an exposed hammer. It looks more like the 1898 in that it has the push-button slide release. But is says Model 30 in fancy scroll script on the upper tang. Condition is really good, I think. No pits or rust but the overall old gun plum/silver patina.

Well Fellas, Speaking of Glenfield / Marlin Model 30's, I've got an OLD one in .35 Remington with a 20 inch barrel and a 2/3 tube magazine (4 shots) that has a serial number prefixed with the letters "AC" followed by numbers in the 25000-30000 range.

So I just picked myself up a Marlin model 90 in 16 gauge. I know it wouldn't be most folks first choice for a hunting shotgun, but the whole package makes a lot of sense to me. First off I have about 30 boxes of 16 gauge ammo given to me recently and I needed something to shoot them from.

Sweet16. I found what looks like a pretty nice Marlin Model 90 16 gauge O/U shotgun at a local dealer. The gun seems to be in good condition - the blueing and wood show honest signs of use, but I'd say are about 85 - 90%. It has 28" barrels and is choked F & M. it has double triggers and doesn't have a ventilated rib.

Yes, that is a Marlin Model 16, C Grade shotgun. The Model 16 was made from 1903 to 1910 in the A, B. C and D grades. The serial number would tend to indicate it could have been made around 1909 or so. Now, from the pictures and your description, I see a couple of problems that will tend to hold the value down.

MARLIN MODEL 31: Scaled down small gauge (16 and 20 gauge) version of the Model 23, has 26 and 28 inch barrels, various chokes. The Model 31, 16 gauge was manufactured 1914 to 1917 and the Model 31 in 20 gauge was manufactured from 1911 to 1923. There are no serial number-year made tables for individual guns.

I have the bead but we have determined it is useless the way its broke. I know if I can find a replacement, this is the place to look.
